Figures and Faces- A Study in Color and Dimension at Monkitree

“Figures and Faces,” by artists Carol Wiley and HanJi Chang, began when the two artists met and shared a love of the color and form of the human body. Sharing a show has gone far beyond a common theme, the two artists have worked together- sharing techniques, modeling for each other… and the result is a dynamic show that explores color, shape, line and movement. And for those wondering why HanJi is posing with glasses, the two have used 3D glasses to punch up the color in some of the pieces in the show.

About HanJi Chang (ChunHua Chang)

HanJi Chang is a 25 year old Korean-Taiwanese woman from Taiwan. She spent half of my childhood in South Africa during the late 80's and early 90's. Now living in midcoast Maine, USA.

As a self taught painter, Hanji has worked in many different mediums, such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, pen and ink, photography and video. She works part time at Waterfall Arts Center, Lincoln Street Center and Colby College as a live model.

Hanji is currently accepted to Maine College of Art in Portland Maine.

3rd Place Winner in Acrylic Division at The 21 Annual Maine Open Juried Art Show in Waterville.

1st Place Winner in The 2010 Pi Celebration T-Shirt Design Contest at UMA
